EDGE Grand Central in Berlin – second CSCB community excursion

Last week we were in Berlin at the EDGE Grand Central as part of our second CSCB community excursion. On site, all participants were able to get an idea of the current developments. After an interesting guided tour through the intelligent building by Dirk Dittrich and Hans Hanschke from EDGE Technologies, Sebastian Prinz introduced the lighting concept of Signify. The manufacturer of lighting technology is a cooperation partner of EDGE, and is in addition to the lighting, also responsible for the temperature control in the rooms of all EDGE buildings.

Afterwards, delicious bowls from GOOD BANK, the in-house caterer, were served for lunch. The caterer relies on regional ingredients and little packaging waste.

Jan Sprenger reported on the smart solutions used in the building. The day ended with two exciting DeepDive groups. We discussed the topics “Smartness- as an enabler for ecological sustainability, and for New Work”.
